What is Theo's Trips?
Intentional group road trips and adventure experiences hosted by Theo in his school bus or internationally. About adventure, friendship, nature, presence, living outside your comfort zone, and genuine community.
What kind of people come?
Adventurous, respectful, outdoorsy, curious, kind, open-minded, genuine, interested in community, willing to make new friends.
Are these influencer trips?
No. These are homie road trips. Real connection, not clout.
Are the trips sober?
Yes. No alcohol, no illegal drugs, no partying.
What is included?
Housing (pillow, blanket, towel on trip), transportation, airport pickup, airport drop-off, two meals a day, bus snacks, campsites, national park fees, fuel, laundry expenses, group activities, Theo's hosting/planning/guidance time and energy.
What is not included?
Flights, lunches, extra snacks, personal spending money, hotels before/after trip.
How much is the deposit?
$250 non-refundable deposit if accepted.
Is the deposit refundable?
It is non-refundable. Cancel >30 days out → transferable to another trip. Cancel within 30 days → forfeited. If your application is not accepted, your deposit is refunded. If Theo cancels or changes a trip, a full refund will be issued.
How do I get cheap flights?
1) Search Google Flights. 2) Book one-way flights individually. 3) Book flights ASAP — prices go up, not down.
What happens after I apply?
1) Choose trip → 2) Fill application → 3) Agree to rules → 4) Sign waiver → 5) Submit deposit → 6) Theo reviews → 7) If approved, deposit accepted → 8) Added to group chat.
Why is the deposit pending?
Theo reviews each applicant to protect the group and ensure fit.
What if a trip is sold out?
Join the waiting list. No deposit needed — just proof of flight with insurance. If a spot opens, Theo contacts people from the waiting list.
How many people are on each trip?
U.S. school bus trips: usually 5–15. International trips: usually around 10.
How does communication work?
All communication through an Instagram group chat. You can DM @theo_trips personally. Everyone needs an Instagram account for the group chat. Theo shares pickup details, packing reminders, trip updates, group logistics, all announcements.
Do I need Instagram?
Yes — for the group chat. Easy to make a new account with one ID photo and no posts.
What if I have dietary restrictions?
Tell Theo through personal DMs or the group chat before the trip — allergies, dietary restrictions, vegan/vegetarian, gluten-free, anything important about food — so food can be planned.
What meals are included?
Two meals a day. Lunch not included. The bus has snacks. Budget for lunches and extra snacks (sandwiches recommended).
Is there fridge space for my personal food?
Fridge space is limited — plan to eat non-perishables.
What are the sleeping arrangements?
Flexible, don't need to be chosen during sign-up. Decide on arrival. Options: one large bed inside the bus that sleeps 8 comfortably with respectful space; two sleeping spots on the floor on beds; rooftop tent that sleeps 2; three outdoor tents that sleep 2–4 on blow-up mattresses; six hammocks (inside bus, on roof, outside, or from trees). People can have private sleeping space if they want (hammock, tent, or single padded mat on the floor).
What if I arrive early?
Options: sleep at the airport, book a hotel the night before, possibly meet Theo at the bus if parked at the airport cell phone lot. The bus may be parked at the cell phone lot the day before (not guaranteed — depends on prior travel). Consider flying in the day before, explore the city, regroup at the cell phone lot to meet Theo at 10 PM. Theo plans to be at the airport by 10 PM the night before. If you land between 10 PM the night before and 11 AM pickup day, you may Uber or walk to the bus; Theo may be asleep inside; if planned ahead he can leave the door unlocked — coordinate in advance. The night before each trip is Theo's chance to catch up on sleep — keep the bus energy calm. Flexible, not guaranteed.
What time is airport pickup?
11:00 AM on the first day.
What time is airport drop-off?
12:00 PM on the last day. Fly out after 2 PM to allow time for security.
What if I fly in the night before?
Stay at the airport, book a hotel, or coordinate with Theo if the bus is available.
What should I pack?
(Packing list to be added later.) Outdoor clothes you can wear more than once, warm layers, swimwear, hiking shoes, deodorant, toiletries, reusable water bottle, sleeping clothes, phone charger, any medications, positive attitude.
Can beginners come?
Yes. No need to be expert hikers, cliff jumpers, or athletes — just respectful, open-minded, willing to participate and listen to instructions.
Do I have to cliff jump?
No. Everything adventure-related is optional. Side quests encouraged. Participate within your capability level.
Is this safe?
Yes — Theo works hard to ensure everyone's safety. Read more on Safety & Trust.
Can I come alone?
Yes. Most people come solo. The point is to make friends and join a community.
Can introverts come?
Yes — encouraged. No need to be loud or extroverted, just genuine, kind, respectful.
Is there a bathroom/shower?
No toilet on bus, but there are toilets at camp. On long drives you may need to pee behind a tree. The bus has an outdoor shower to rinse off, designed to be used with a swimsuit.
Are there charging outlets?
Yes, 24/7 wall plugs.
What if I need space?
The bus has a single bed in the back for personal space while moving. Quiet time encouraged — mornings before breakfast are good for alone time. Respect personal space but be prepared to share it.
